Lauren Wilson is a writer who approaches her work with an appreciation that every topic is always—always—more complicated than it seems. It is in the folds of complexity, the threads of nuance and the mending of contradictions that she weaves together meaning as an author, a freelance writer and a human being.

She has built a career on tumbling down cultural rabbit holes. Her work has focused on digesting big topics and distilling them into fun and approachable formats, whether they be freelance articles or fully-realized books.

After studying marketing at Montreal’s McGill University and working in the environmental non-profit sphere, Lauren decided to switch gears and did chef training at George Brown Chef School in Toronto, Canada. She has since worked in various capacities in the food and hospitality industry in both Toronto and New York, and it was in the world of food that she got her start writing. She went on to author not one but two cookbooks for the zombie apocalypse, including the official cookbook for AMC’s hit series The Walking Dead.

She is also the author of three science-forward books aimed at untangling the knotted balls of misunderstanding surrounding the Cannabis sativa L. plant family, and has spent the last five years working to move the cannabis conversation forward through education. Her latest books were done in partnership with Snoop Dogg’s media outlet MERRY JANE and Chronicle Books. As part of The CBD Solution series these books speak to the growing mainstream market for CBD, with the goal of helping to guide both expectations and journeys with hemp and cannabis.

Lauren is the author of five books, including the bestsellers The Art of Eating Through the Zombie Apocalypse: A Cookbook and Culinary Survival Guide, The Walking Dead: The Official Cookbook and Survival Guide, and Healing with CBD: How Cannabidiol Can Transform Your Health Without the High. Most recently Lauren wrote The CBD Solution: Wellness and The CBD Solution: Living.

Lauren lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her mischievous cat Sheldon.
